Getting Started With Video The Low Cost Way

 July 6, 2021

By  Delano1216

Connecting with your web site visitors, subscribers, and customers with video is something that a lot of marketers are avoiding. Why?

There are several reasons, and I don't want to make a statement that doesn't apply to you, so I will relate some of the reasons that I have read about on forums and what I have personally struggled with.

My big objection was that I did NOT want to be on camera. Turns out that there is no reason that I need to be on camera. In the online marketing niche, screen capture videos are very common.

Recording the screen while demonstrating how to do something and narrating as you go is not really very scary.

Next comes the expense. It's easy to put off creating videos when it is vital that you spend a ton of time and  energy searching out advice and options. You don't want to buy the wrong software.

Turns out that this is not a good excuse. Spending a lot of money on the best software and best microphone is not going to make you a master of video. With that in mind, I present to you an option that will work for you, no matter what your budget.

And the best thing about it?

You could have your first video recorded by the end of the day. Yes, it is that easy.

The video software that I am talking about in this post is called Flashback Recorder. It comes in at $49 for one computer, or $74 if you want to install it on 2 computers. You can get a free trial, and it comes with a lot of features.

There is a free version that does a really nice job, and you can start with this version. It is called Flashback Express. You can't edit the video, and you can't add any effects or transitions. But it gets the job done, it's free, and you can use it to learn how to make effective videos.

But it is a great way to get started with recording your own videos.

I forgot to mention that if you want to be on camera, you can do it with this video software. You provide the camera, sync it up, and you're ready to go.

Here's an image that shows you what you get with the free version and the additional features of the paid version:

When it comes to the audio, you don't have to get fancy. A lot of laptop computers have a built in microphone. The sound quality may not be the best, but you're just getting started, so go with what you have.

I ended up spending about $25 on a USB Mic that I got on Amazon. I did a search, read reviews of a few Mics, and made my purchase. It does what I need it to do.

The idea is to get started as soon as possible. Get the free software and either use the built-in mic or get an inexpensive one, and get started.

Here's a quick video walk-through that I made that shows you the Flashback Recorder web site and the options they have. Enjoy...
